Ask anyone what puts them off a hot tub and they rarely say the tub. They say the water. The chemicals. The worry that they'll get it wrong and end up with something cloudy and green.
It's the one job that sounds harder than it is – and it's the reason a lot of people never start. So we took it off the table. Every Eco Foam order goes out with a free chemical starter kit: everything you need to get the water right from day one, in one box, before you've filled a drop.
Here's what's in it, and what it's for.
What's in the box
No shopping list, no second order. The kit covers the four things water care actually comes down to – sanitise, test, balance, keep clear.
- Chlorine granules – the sanitiser. Keeps the water clean and safe to sit in. Dissolves fast, so it's working within minutes.
- 3-in-1 test strips – dip one in and it reads chlorine, pH and total alkalinity at a glance. This is how you know where you stand rather than guessing.
- Anti-foam – for the odd time the water gets frothy after a busy session. A splash clears it.

Filter cartridge – slots into the Eco Foam's built-in unit. Rinse it under the tap and reuse it.

What each one actually does
The routine is shorter than the description. Once the tub's filled and up to temperature:
- Test. Dip a strip. It tells you the chlorine and pH in seconds.
- Dose. Add chlorine to bring it into range. The kit's guide tells you how much.
- Retest. Check again the next day. Top up if it's dropped.
That's it. A dip and a scoop, a couple of times a week. The filter does the rest – rinse it now and then and it goes back in.
