Not sure which replacement filter to buy for your Wave Spa? Wave uses two filter types, and they are not interchangeable. This guide explains which spas use which, and how to check yours in a few seconds.
The two filter types
1. Screw-On / Threaded
The end of the filter has a screw thread, and it twists directly onto the filter housing inside your spa.
Used by: all current Wave Spas, including:
Rigid Eco Foam spas (2020 onwards): Como, Garda and Tahoe
Newer inflatable spas: Aegean, Atlantic, Pacific and Ontario
Frame spa: Adriatic
Shop Screw-On/Threaded filters
2. Cartridge / Non-Threaded (push-on)
The filter has no thread. It slides onto the pipe rather than screwing on.
Used by:
Older Wave inflatable spas that use an external heater unit
The Antarctic ice bath
Shop Cartridge/Non-Threaded filters
How to tell which filter you have
Look at your current filter. If one end has a screw thread, you need Screw-On/Threaded. If it's smooth and slides on, you need Cartridge/Non-Threaded.
Check your product page. The filter type is listed under Filter in the Tech Specs on every Wave Spa product page.
Check your instruction manual. The set-up steps show how the filter fits.
Newer spas usually have two filters. Older models have one.
What about the Filter Sock?
The Filter Sock is an accessory, not a replacement filter. It's a mesh cover that fits over a Screw-On/Threaded filter to catch hair and debris, helping your filter last longer. You still need a filter inside it.
How often should I change my filter?
We recommend rinsing your filter every 1–2 weeks and replacing it regularly, depending on how often you use your spa. Your controller will show an FC (Filter Change) reminder when it's time to check it. For a full routine, see our filter maintenance guide.
Still not sure?
Use the chat widget at the bottom of the page and send us a photo of your current filter or the name of your spa model, and we'll point you to the right one.
