Hot Tub Cover FAQs

Does a hot tub cover reduce running costs?

Yes, and it is the cheapest way to do it. The water surface is where a spa loses most of its heat, so a fitted insulated cover cuts heat loss by up to 50% and means the heater cycles far less often.

What is the difference between a thermal cover and a standard lid?

A standard lid mainly keeps debris out. A thermal cover adds an insulating layer designed specifically to slow heat loss, which is the part that shows up on your energy bill.

Which cover fits my hot tub?

We stock model specific lids for the Atlantic, Pacific and Swift, plus thermal covers sized by measurement. Measure across the top of your tub at its widest point, match that to the listed size, and match the shape too.

Can I leave the cover on while the hot tub heats?

Yes, and you should. Heating uncovered wastes a large part of the energy going in. With a first fill taking 14 to 23 hours from cold, keeping the cover on makes a meaningful difference to both time and cost.

What is a floating eco liner?

A thin bubble insulation sheet that floats directly on the water under your main cover. It traps heat at the surface and reduces evaporation, and works alongside a thermal cover rather than replacing it.
