The Pre-Flight Checklist

Before you start pairing, 90% of connection issues can be solved by checking these three things:

  1. The 2.4GHz Rule: Most home routers broadcast in two "bands": 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The Wave Smart App only works on 2.4GHz. If your phone is on 5GHz, the spa won't see it. You may need to temporarily "split" your bands in your router settings.

  2. Signal Strength: Your spa is likely outside. Brick walls and distance kill WiFi signals. If you don't have at least two bars of WiFi at the spa's location, you may need a WiFi Extender.

  3. Bluetooth & Location: Ensure both are turned ON on your phone during the pairing process to help the app "handshake" with the spa.

  1. Power On: Plug in your spa and ensure the control panel is active.

The "20-Minute Bubble Rule"

  • The Issue: The bubbles turn off by themselves after 20 minutes.

  • The Reason: This is a built-in safety feature! The air blower is a high-powered motor that generates heat. The system automatically shuts it down for a 10-minute cool-down period to prevent the motor from burning out. You cannot override this, but you can restart them after the break.

LED Lighting Issues

If your spa features an LED strip that isn't glowing:

  • Check the Connection: Ensure the 4-pin connector is pushed firmly into the port on the heater unit.

  • The Remote: Many LED strips use an RF remote. Ensure the plastic battery tab has been removed.
