HOW TO TREAT YOUR HOT TUB WITH CHEMICALS

THE ESSENTIALS

It is essential that you regularly check and treat the water in your Wave Spa to get full enjoyment and to extend your Wave Spa’s life.

It is essential that you understand that all hot tubs can carry bacteria unless it is treated correctly, preventing Legionella disease, which is the most common form of bacteria.

You are most at risk if you are over 50, smoke or drink heavily, have breathing or kidney problems, or suffer from Diabetes, lung or heart disease.

Untreated water in your Wave Spa can lead to you catching Legionnaires’ disease caused by breathing in small droplets of water which is in the air and which contain the bacteria.

Risks of Legionella increase if the water temperature is between 20-45’C.

Breathable water droplets can also be created if the water is stored or recirculated. Deposits supporting bacteria can include wet mud, organic material, rust, biofilms and body skin.
